BACKFLIP FOUNDATION

Monitoring and Evaluation

The intended overall impact of the foundation is the development of young people with specific needs who would otherwise not get the chance due to socio-economic reasons and other barriers to access.

To this end there are three main elements to measuring the impact of the Foundation:

  • The number of placements available for young people in need

  • The number of young people who participate in gymnastic classes from the targeted areas of need

  • The progress made by each participant during their gymnastic classes

These are clearly measured and analysed using existing systems set up and made available by Backflip. This ensures efficiency of costs and also the highest protection of data (Backflip have inbuilt quality mechanisms for ensuring data protection of their young people).

Monitoring and evaluation is carried out for two core organisational purposes – to measure the impact of the Foundation, and to comply with organisational obligations and responsibilities.

The key tools for measuring the impact of the Foundation are:

  • Quantitative Count: number of placements available for young people in need in any one year

  • Quantitative Count: number of young people who participate in the drama course from the targeted areas of need in any one year

  • Qualitative Analysis: the progress made by each participant during the drama course as reported in development files for each young person

  • Qualitative Analysis: the analysis of specific development areas across all young persons supported by the scheme

There are a number of quality assurance procedures in place to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of organisational obligations and responsibilities. These include the following:

  • Child Protection Policy and Procedures

  • Health and Safety Policy and Procedures

  • Annual Financial Audit Process

  • Stakeholder Condition Compliance Procedures (As Required)

  • Perform Teacher Training Standards

  • Perform Teacher Monitoring Procedures
